Commodore 64 was the earliest computer I remember having at home. My father started working for Epson computers when I was but a 8 years old I think. Obviously there after we had a lot of epson computers... when epson still made computers. I remember when my father bought me a computer... I think I was probably 10th grade which puts me about 16 years old? It had a CD-ROM which I thought was crazy! 386 running Windows 3.1, 250mb hard drive, 28K modem that I upgraded to 56K.
I remember there was an instruction list that came with the computer that instructed you how to reload the software/drivers, and in what order to load them, in the event you had to restore your system. They weren't advanced enough to have a recovery disc or anything like that.
alas one day there was an electrical problem and that computer literally started smoking signalling it's end.
