    Default What is the MySql Server Version

    Hi what connector should i use to connect to MySql DB?
    I tried using MySql Connector/Net 5.0 and i'm getting this

    -->
    Parser Error Message: Could
    not load file or assembly 'MySql.Data, Version=5.0.7.0,
    Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=c5687fc88969c44d' or one of its
    dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
    -->

    By the way, i've checked my DB and i noticed the version is MySql4.0. I thought it has already been updated to version 5.0?

    Because of that i can't created my VIEW objects in my DB.

    Any solutions?

    Hi,

    MySQL version is 4.1.21. But you can't use mysql connector in medium trust. I myselft tried to compile mysql dll with [assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers], but not helped. It depended on sockets and it is not allowd in medium trust.

    This connector can be only used if apsnix change permissions and allow mysql lib in main config.

    So is asp.net and mySql out of the question? Are you still able to run asp.net with MySQl then?
