Default Why is Photoshop so hard!?!

What is the easiest way to take a person out of an image and put them onto a transparent background!?! I've been trying for days, but it always seems jagged looking and just wrong.

Hahahaha. It took me years to refine how to do this, so I can completely understand your frustration! You can either use the pen tool or masking tool. Does your person have a lot of hair? What version of PS are you using?

Yes there is hair, it is a photo of my wife, and she wanted her body etc. cut out and moved to another background. I am using the latest version of Photoshop (Creative Cloud).

I know have a full understanding of why people go to school for this and why they make the big bucks!!!

I attached a copy of the image I am working with (covered her face for obvious reasons). I assume this is a complicated chop job...

    EDIT: Cannot upload, getting error.

Not sure how much this video will help but it's a start. Most tutorials will show you how to do this on solid backgrounds WHICH isn't the case in real life most of the time, such as your photo. Maybe there will be some tricks in this video to help you with smoothing the edges. It is really tricky but hopefully this will help.
