Default Make your WordPress blog faster using Wincache

If you use WordPress we have a 1 file solution that can help the performance of your WordPress powered website! While this will work on any WordPress installation, it will be better "felt" on an installation with larger amounts of traffic.

This caching add-on utilizes Microsoft's WinCache solution for PHP to store objects, database query results, file contents, sessions and more in-memory for faster loading times and less overhead parsing and loading your websites contents.

    1. Navigate to WordPress › WinCache Object Cache Backend « WordPress Plugins and download the latest version of the wincache plugin.
    2. Open the ZIP file containing the files and move object-cache.php to your desktop, or another temporary location.
    3. Connect to your web site using FTP and navigate to your domains root => wwwroot => wp-content. Upload the file object-cache.php to this location.

Nothing else needs to be done as WordPress automatically finds this file and uses it as it requires. Note that this plugin may not work with other caching solutions. We recommend that you do not run more than one server caching solution at a time.

As a note from a discussion with a customer I would like to add that Wincache is always working behind the scenes with our without this plugin. However this plugin allows WordPress to take advantage of the extra features of Wincache such as file caching, object and user caching. The OpCode caching mechanism is always running, however without this plugin WordPress cannot utilize the full power of WinCache.
